Description

The Nursing Assistant under the direction and supervision of the professional nurse performs various duties to assist the nursing staff in meeting patient treatment and care requirements. All duties are carried out in accordance with the established policies and procedures. Community First Medical Center has the following availability for CNAs who are looking to work variable shifts, and have an interest in Medical Surgical/Cardiac Care, Telemetry, Extended Care. New CNAs Welcome!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provides direct patient care as assigned by the registered nurse.
2. Performs routine procedures. (e.g. blood glucose monitoring, vital signs, heights, weights, intake and output and the collections of urine, stool and sputum specimens.
3. Assists with patients' activity and providing a safe environment.
4. Observes patients while performing delegated tasks and reports any changes in patient's condition to the registered nurse.
5. Promotes and maintains an atmosphere for patient comfort. Keep patient's room clean and orderly.
6. Provides skin care and is knowledgeable in care needed to maintain or improve skin integrity.
7. Assists with admissions, transfers and morgue transport and discharge of patient.
8. Replenishes patient's supplies as needed.
9. Identifies patient/family education needs and reports them to the RN.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited program required
• Able to communicate effectively using written and verbal English
• EMR/EPIC experience preferred
• One semester of clinical completed in an RN program accepted in its place of CNA certification
• BLS/CPR certification required
