Industrial Prep Worker- Oertel Metal Works

Started in 1988 as an architectural sheet metal job shop, Oertel Metalworks has grown to be an expert in the custom metal fabrication industry. Oertel Metalworks is currently seeking a reliable and safety-oriented Industrial Prep Worker for our Davenport, Iowa location.

Our Industrial Prep Worker is responsible for preparing parts by grinding, sanding, cleaning, coating, and masking parts as required. The Industrial Prep Worker will also help transport, stage, and pack parts as required by the Paint Lead. Strong quality standards being met by following instructions and paying attention to detail is a consistent priority for the Industrial Prep Worker.

What makes you successful in this position?

• The ability to consistently prioritize safety, organization and cleanliness while completing day to day tasks.
• Microsoft Office Suites proficiency. 
• An understanding of hand tools and a fork truck certification or the ability to obtain one.
• Enjoy working in a physical role. You’ll be on your feet & moving throughout the day, which could also include lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Team player mentality and the desire to be a part of a successful, hard-working team.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

This position works Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm each day, with the option for overtime.
