Line ends help set up and help operators run machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, and help in the adjustments of the machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion.
Line End Responsibilities:
· As line ends you are partly responsible for the line, from what goes into it to what comes out, the machine itself, and its surroundings.
· You will help with raw material and stacking at the back of the line
· It will also be your job to prep the line for the jobs that need to ran (materials, skids paperwork, and so on)
· Training, it will be part of your job to help train new line ends along with the leads and operators this will help show multiple ways of doing the same thing with the same outcome
· Quality checks will need to be done AND recorded according to quality plan. If anything goes wrong with the products or does not match with the specifications or tolerances then need to inform the operator asap.
· It will be up to you and the operator to keep the line that you are on, running. If the line is down or goes down it is your job to help get it running and taking good sheets.
o This means the line has to be taking good sheets before breaks can be taken.
· If the job calls for it, you will need to do a die change, help adjust the rollers, change the conformer, prepare and change the protection film or make any changes to get the desired product.
· You will work with maintenance, the operator, and the lead if the line went down to help speed the repair time up. If you are not needed then this is the time for breaks and or cleaning around the line.
· End of your day it will be your job to help make sure the paper work is filled out and accurate, as this will be turned in to track the jobs.
· If lines are down due to schedule, p/m’s and cleaning will be done, or if you are assigned to different task by the lead.
· At times it may be need to work extra hours and/or change shifts for a period of time.
· The line should be delivered to the new shift surrounding is cleaned , all the scraps , wastes generated during the shift should be brought to the places defined for each line.
· The line end takes care of grinding the waste during the shift by using the grinder next to the line.
· You should show up all the time around your line unless your break time and assigned to a different task by the lead.
· Line operator should be informed when leaving the line in any circumstances.
· It is the responsibility of yours to take care and protect yourself from any work accident , injury and damage. Wear your personal protection equipment all the time.
· Line end needs to act according to the instruction of the operator , shift lead and production chief.
