The Medical Director will oversee the program design involving medical services criteria for patient intake, required components of ongoing patient evaluation, dosing practices, medication policies, cardiac risk policies, policies on drug screens showing illicit substances, treatment interventions, and management of high-risk patients. These policies and practices will be managed to maximize patient safety, patient confidentiality and positive treatment outcomes.
Requirements
In order to be considered for the Medical Director position, you will need:
- Current Licensed Medical Doctor with a valid unencumbered license to practice medicine in the State of Oklahoma in good standing.
- Board certified in Addiction Medicine and/or Psychiatry - Preferred
- Ability to take on-call responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the timely completion of admission physicals, annual physicals, medical histories, laboratory testing consistent with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and sound medical practice
- Review appropriate laboratory results as well as medical documentation from other healthcare providers and manage each patient according to established best practice and accrediting and regulatory guidelines
- Screen patients for common medical co-morbidities and evaluate co-existing medical conditions to identify potential medication impact/drug interactions, to include over-the-counter (OTC) medications
- Prescribe and titrate the appropriate dosage of medications (including all forms of medically assisted treatment) consistent with the patients medical and addiction history
- Write medical orders based upon the individual needs of the patient. Review medical therapy and document those activities in the patients chart
- Manage the timely completion of documentation and professional staff reports ensuring compliance and reporting responsibilities are met.
- Assist in creating and updating program policies, procedures and activities in relation to medical and psychiatric services.
- Maintain awareness of changing trends and treatments while recommending and implementing changes that ensure excellent, consistent client care within the treatment operations.
Pay: $5,000 per month
Schedule: Part Time; (5-7 hours per week)
