The Role
Our ideal Mechanic candidate will be someone who is looking for a long-term opportunity. Starting wage will be based on accreditations and experience.
The mechanic performs various automotive and construction equipment repairs including preventive maintenance, brakes, steering, tires and light engine work at a main OWL Services location in Clarkston, MI. In addition, some light body repairs or fabrication as required. The mechanic will perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experienced in regular vehicle maintenance, diesel is a plus
- State mechanical certifications preferred but not required
- Light automotive or equipment-related electrical knowledge preferred but not required
- CDL-A preferred, or willingness to obtain CDL-A license.
- An excellent driving record is required.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical with two-year medical card.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Physical Attributes
- Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and sit.
- Able to use hands, fingers, handle or feel and reach out with hands and arms extensively.
- Climbing stairs, ladders or sloped grades and walking on uneven terrain.
- Ability to see up close and at a distance.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts and/or machinery and excessive noise.
