Senior Airfield Electrical Engineer

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT), named a “Zweig Group’s “Best Firms to Work For.” is a consulting firm with a team of engineers, planners and other related design professionals, is actively seeking to add a talented, Senior Airfield Electrical Engineer to our Aviation team. Aviation projects are primarily airport-related, including but not limited to aviation related facilities including utility systems and the design and construction of aviation-related infrastructure. The selected candidate will have demonstrated leadership qualities, the ability to work as a team member or independently, and the desire to learn new skills and areas of expertise.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Planning, design, and construction of airfield lighting and NAVAIDS projects
- Perform and lead electrical related design tasks or projects including supervising and directing junior staff in support of project managers and the group manager
- Typical projects require preparation of bidding documents (plans & specifications) including horizontal and vertical layout, site development, power distribution, controls, utilities, electrical facilities, airfield NAVAIDs, signage, coordination with other disciplines, quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and construction scheduling
- Perform, assist or oversee construction-related tasks including on-site construction observation and project engineering
Position Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required. A Master’s degree in advanced studies will be recognized in the evaluation process.
- Minimum 10 years of aviation electrical engineering experience with demonstrated technical design & construction expertise in power distribution, controls, and electrical infrastructure projects including airfield lighting and electrical design engineering reports, and specifications
- Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
- Demonstrated skills and a working knowledge of AutoCAD for use in electrical & site design projects
- Skill using Civil 3D for site modeling, design, and analysis is preferred
- Interest in experiencing a variety of assignments is important
- Must be willing to accept periodic out of town travel assignments and work overtime to meet project demands
- Acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license
