POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Baler Operator supports recycling operations by taking material and creating compressed bales for transportation and storage.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work in fast-paced environment making over one hundred bales a shift.
- Clean bales of contamination with pliers.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on baler.
- Drive forklift to place bales in inventory and load trailers.
- General warehouse cleanup at the end of each shift.
- Processing equipment cleanup at the end of each shift.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and business leaders
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment
- Great organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- Must be a quick learner; willing and able to operate heavy equipment (crane, forklift, loader etc.)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 1 year experience operating similar equipment
- 1 year forklift experience
- 1 year experience in either recycling and/or manufacturing environment
- Prior knowledge of metal identification is preferred but not required
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Regularly use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms
- Frequently required to sit, walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, speak and hear.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
- Work environment is uncontrolled, with exposure to heat, cold, rain, wind and dust
