Pittsburgh CLO is a not-for-profit cultural organization dedicated to the preservation, creation and promotion of the American musical theater art form, the furnishing of arts education and providing outreach and meaningful community service opportunities in Western Pennsylvania and throughout the United States.

The Pittsburgh CLO, hailed as one of the nation's premier regional theaters, is seeking an outgoing, detail-oriented communicator to serve as a Patron Engagement Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing and working closely with the whole Sales and Marketing team, this individual will be tasked with bringing the PCLO Patron Engagement projects from vision to fruition. This position involves organizing, coordinating, and attending all community events, and administrating all Street-To-Seat programs with a focal point on marketing and sales strategy. The Patron Engagement Coordinator plans and executes community engagement activities at the theater and off site; including but not limited to: Subscribers and Community Partners; with a focus on stewarding key partnerships and communication year-round.

Primary responsibilities incorporate creating a strategic framework for Patron and Community partnerships: which may include identifying and implementing value-added Street-To-Seat programming, merchandise sales program, collaborations with Group Sales Coordinator, Patron Service Team, Development Team, Production Team and more. A passion for live theater, demonstrated success in collaborating with diverse communities, meticulous attention to organizational tasks and clear, and authentic communication are critical for success in this role.
What you will do:
Patron Engagement Duties:

  • Execute and implement a strategic framework for Patron and Community partnerships when given detailed plans: implement value-added Street-To-Seat programming, present opportunities through polished and exciting presentations, maintain relationships through rollout and execution of events and programs, and report upon success of partnership.
  • Create and implement a merchandise sales program for multiple venue sales at each offered Production, developing concepts and product selection, ensuring volunteers are scheduled to sell, merchandise kiosks are well stocked, and that inventory counts, and cash collections are accurate.
  • Represent CLO at vendor booths for external festivals and Community Engagement projects, such as the Art All Night, Children's Theater Festival, Three Rivers Arts Festival, Picklesburgh, Pittsburgh Pride and Reading Extravaganza, plus many others.
  • Support and participate in initiatives that give back to the community to promote the Pittsburgh CLO brand.
  • Assist the Group Sales Coordinator on all phases of group contracts; book orders, secure deposits, and take payments for group ticket sales. Follow up with group sales customers for feedback.
  • Collaborate with Development Team regarding digital collateral and website presence as well as fulfilling donation requests. Also assist the Development department with creation and procurement of donor stewardship items and special event products, sponsorship and branding opportunities
  • Collaborate with the Production and Marketing teams on creating Patron add-on experiences, including but not limited to pre- and post-show talks.

  • Support and participate in initiatives that give back to the community to promote the Pittsburgh CLO brand.
  • Represent CLO as front of house concierge during performances; greet audience and assist with customer service issues.
  • Assist with large mailings and other special Marketing and Sales correspondence, via phone, email, and print.
  • Other related duties as requested.

What you will need:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic understanding of Tessitura database is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and strong interpersonal and customer service skills, adept at communicating, motivating, and inspiring individuals.
  • Strong, proactive, strategic thinker, and a passionate supporter of the communities we serve.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, ability, and ethnic backgrounds while solving complex problems as part of a productive sales team.
  • Must be willing and available to work pre-scheduled evenings and weekends
  • Superb organization skills
  • Excellent customer service, conflict resolution, and relationship building skills
  • Must have access to reliable transportation. Off-site work required at various times of the year, especially during peak seasons.
  • Positive, proactive, and possess a "no task too small" attitude.
  • Self-driven and able to work autonomously.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to problem solve and think critically.
  • Capable of working as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • Engaged in and/or inspired by Musical Theater.

  • Hourly compensation starting at $22.00per hour, commensurate with experience.
