As a Senior Research & Development Engineer your responsibilities will be:

Applications

  • Lead Innovative product and process solutions development.
  • Lead / delegate development work on CNG, Supplier and Customer Assets as appropriate.
  • PMP or Project management
  • Related Leadership presentation and report outs

Internal Process

  • Lead process hand-off to commercial developing initial standard operating conditions
  • Support ongoing optimization efforts related to both process and resin.

R&D

  • Coordinate, interpret and report analytical testing, review, and trials.
  • DOE work as needed to support development initiatives.
  • Propose new lab and pilot equipment

Innovation

  • Lead Intellectual Property discussions and reviews
  • Identify new resins & technologies to explore

Data Analysis

  • Interpretation of analytical tools such as DSC, FTIR, Microscopy, etc
  • Minitab or other data analysis tools

Quality

  • New designs to be production ready in terms of development of process and CTQ’s.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor direct or indirect reports to achieve individual performance goals.
  • Provide opportunities for the appropriate development of direct or indirect reports.

Other Responsibilities

  • Proactively seek educational opportunities to expand knowledge to benefit the individual and the company
  • Other duties as assigned by direct manager or corporate leadership



A strong Senior Research & Development Engineer will possess:

  • Detail oriented and ability to be self-motivated.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high demand, team oriented, and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision making.
  • Management, teamwork, leadership, eye for detail, thoroughness and cool under pressure.
  • Be able to manage & prioritize multiple projects/tasks in order minimize response time.
  • Demonstrate a continuous professional attitude with all levels of internal and external personnel.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in R&D, Chemical, Packaging, Plastics or Industrial. BS in Chemistry or Polymer Science with appropriate emphasis may also qualify. Equivalent work experience with a specialization in Engineering, Plastics, Polymer or applicable Research and Development will also be considered.
  • 8 years of experience in R&D, Technical Development Engineer or Equivalent Experience
  • Demonstrate skills in organization, attention to details, setting priorities and sound decision making.
  • Project Management Experience is a plus
  • Experience with minitab or other data analysis tools a plus
