Bell Attendant - Sable Hotel at Navy Pier

General Purpose
The Bell Attendant will work closely with the hotel's guest service team to assist arriving and departing guests with their luggage. The Bell Attendant is primarily responsible for welcoming guest to the hotel and obtaining transportation when requested. This role may require communication and coordination between guest services and assistance with guest luggage. Bell Attendants may be asked general information about the hotel and surrounding area. You will also assist with making deliveries to guest rooms and offices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To work as a member of the team and in conjunction with the overall guest experience. The following include the essential duties and responsibilities of this job (other duties may be assigned):
- Greets guest and present a warm welcome.
- Greet and escort arriving and departing guest to and from their accommodations.
- Retrieve and transport guest luggage.
- Inspect guest rooms and acquaint guest with these rooms and their features.
- Respond to guest inquires and request in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
- Organize and store luggage, as needed, according to guidelines.
- Ensure that management/leadership team is kept fully aware of any relevant feedback from guest and or other departments.
- Ensure messages or room correspondence are regularly delivered throughout the day.
- Deliver items to guest and offices.
- Delivery of VIP amenities to guest rooms
- Assist with room moves, special luggage deliveries and/or pulls, and attend the main lobby and front door appears as needed.
- Assist guest with questions regarding the property or nearby areas.
- Assist guest services with arriving packages.
- Assist with arranging transportation for guest.
- Replenishes areas with supplies as required.
- Assist in the maintenance, appearance and functionality of equipment i.e. bell carts.
- Maintain the organization of the Luggage Storage and Packages closet.
- Ensures the guest luggage tags are reviewed and match luggage before releasing.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School diploma. No experience required.

REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to make appropriate judgments relative to the process of supporting the cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms/public areas.

Employee must be able to lift/push/pull 50 pounds. Job frequently requires walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching, and standing. Frequently requires reaching, grabbing, pulling, and grasping. Must be able to squat, bend, kneel and twist.
HOURS
Due to the seasonal nature of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, night shifts, and/or overtime. Also, depending on the season, hours may be reduced at any time.
