Staff Accountant

The position of Accounts Receivable Specialist reports to the AR Supervisor , in the Finance Department. The candidate will be responsible for accounts receivables which include reconciling and posting journal entries for cash sale and credit card deposits, charge-backs, incentives, insurance claims and other accounts. The candidate will have a demonstrated ability to research and resolve cash control issues in a timely fashion. The ideal candidate will be flexible, dedicated, self-motivated and results oriented.

• Reconcile daily cash deposits and investigate shortages
• Reconcile credit card transactions and deposits weekly
• Reconcile third party sales (Uber Eats, Grubhub, etc)
• Post journal entries for sales, cash deposits, and credit card deposits
• Post journal entries/provisions
• Manage and dispute charge-backs from credit card transactions
• Manage and follow up on other, as assigned, A/R account balances
• Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
• Maintain historical records by filing documents
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
• Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed
• Availability to work on occasional weekends for closing of month
• Participate in other special projects or assignments

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited school
• 1+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience in corporate environment using Accounting software (Microsoft Dynamic NAV)
• Strong attention to detail and thoroughness
• Ability to stay organized and manage time appropriately.
• Multi-Task and able to work in a fast pace environment
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to spot patterns and discrepancies
• Must have understanding of general rules of Accounting (GAAP)
• Data entry skills with attention to accuracy
• Must be able to work independently on diverse tasks with strong follow through
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
• Respond well to a deadline oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Bilingual-English/Spanish
