Senior Accountant - Permanent Part Time Fully Remote

About the role:

This position is responsible for supporting the accounting operations of the company, producing and consolidating multi-entity and multi-currency financial statements, and testing the internal controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Ensures that all monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements along with supporting schedules are produced in a timely fashion in accordance with GAAP, internal controls and corporate policies
• Review monthly account reconciliations of various general ledger accounts (cash, accruals, intercompany balances, fixed assets); research and resolve complex reconciling items
• Analyze journal entries to the general ledger ensuring data integrity and accuracy
• Coordinate and support finance activities across various departments throughout the United States and Canada.
• Maintains proper documentation of all procedures and internal controls to be followed during the monthly close process.
• Lead the annual budgeting, trend analysis, monthly financial and cash flow forecasting processes.
• Assists in implementing adequate internal controls throughout the organization and strives for continuous improvement of operational procedures and processes.
• Assist in compilation of monthly tax provisions and annual tax filings
• Perform additional ad-hoc analysis and reporting, as requested. Other duties and analysis as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications & Skills :

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• Preference will be given to individuals who have their CPA or pursuing their CPA.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in preparing consolidated financial statements along with a strong understanding of multi-currency transactional and translational entries is essential.
• Self-motivated, result oriented, with strong analytical skills.
• A desire to be hands on and directly involved in the day to day activities within the department
• A self-starter who is positive, energetic, innovative, organized, able to multi-task and not afraid to take initiative.
• Knowledge of business system processes, information systems development processes and internal controls.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages; Sage Intacct preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VBA, formulas, functions)
