Where do you fit into our story?
As a Senior Designer, you will assist in developing design concepts and details for luxury destinations, working under the guidance of a Lead Designer and also independently on specific components of larger projects. You will embrace all phases of the design process, including the creation of conceptual and schematic designs, design development, space planning, and presentation drawings. You will often work in collaboration with others, including team members, consultants, contractors, specification writers, and regulatory agencies. You’ll be a mentor and guide to junior team members, helping to nurture their talent and innovation. You will also play a role in business development, helping to identify opportunities and introduce potential clients to other members of the firm.
Required qualifications for this role in our story:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture (Master’s and licensure preferred but not required.)
- 10+ years of experience in an architectural office with a focus on hospitality design
- Demonstrated proficiency in Rhino, Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, InDesign and Photoshop for presentations as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.)
- Experience in 2D and 3D sketching and modeling techniques
- Strong design, graphic, sketching, illustration & presentation skills
- Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly and clearly to team and clients.
- Willingness and ability to work both under a lead architect or on your own project, depending on size and type of project
- Ability to manage a team of junior designers, drafters & others while creating a positive, collaborative environment
- Strong presentation and client relations skills
- Experience with managing small teams and multi-disciplinary specialists
- Knowledge of the design process from concept to delivery and building codes
- Ability to manage variety of project types in various stages of development
- Great people and leadership skills and ability to mentor rising stars
- A willing can-do team ethic that allows you to work on your own projects and support others
- Ability to produce of documents to support your narrative from pre-concept to construction phase
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects, tasks, priorities and deadlines
