Food Counter Associate - Per Diem

The Food Counter Associate will be working in our Cafe located on FHE's outpatient campus.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Food Counter Associate welcomes our guests in a friendly and polite manner, and responsibilities include maintain cleanliness, attending to customers’ requests, serving food or packaging it for takeaway and accepting payments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Greets and interacts with customers as they arrive and making them feel welcome and assists them with the selection of merchandise.
• Prepares and serves coffees, teas, specialty beverages per brand standards.
• Takes orders, prepares, and serve food items.
• Ensures food items are proper cooked properly and at correct temperatures.
• Unpacks shipments and displays in appropriate area.
• Ensures all merchandise is stocked in beverage coolers, grab, and go items, service ware and condiments. Displays are attractive, priced correctly, displayed in a safe manner, and located for customers to find easily.
• Sets up and breakdown coffee bar, stations including cleaning and sanitizing equipment.
• Maintains clean and sanitary work areas and floors, including outside patio seating area.
• Conducts daily inventory of food and beverages including other sold items.
• Purchases and orders items as needed. Handles record keeping and re-ordering systems.
• Operates cash register/POS and receives cash or credit card payment from customer. Accurately counts and provides change.
• Balances and manages cash register and is responsible for cash drawer at the end of the day and follows FHE cash handling policies and procedures.
• Assists customers in billing and payment processes at the stores counter.
• Monitors customers to assist the store in loss prevention. Resolves customer complaints when necessary.
• Follows health, safety guidelines and ensures store compliance with health and safety regulation.
• Notifies supervisor immediately with any problems with equipment temperatures,
• Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
• Reports to work on time and ready to begin work by scheduled time.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Current CPR Certification or can obtain through FHE Health
• Proof of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training or can obtain through FHE Health
• Valid Florida Driver’s License required and must be at least 21 years old to drive company vehicle and authorized to be placed on company auto insurance policy through approval from third party MVR verification.

• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently without an immediate supervisor.
• Problem-Solving skills required.
• Ability of operate cash register and inventory systems.
