Job Purpose

The pool attendant ensures that the pool and surrounding areas are clean, safe and that pool rules are followed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests and ensure their safety and comfort.
  • Check in residents using the pool area, making sure the pool capacity is not exceeded.
  • Maintain pool PH and chlorine levels, testing water samples and adding appropriate chemicals as needed.
  • Operate the pool vacuum and skimmer to make sure the water is clean and free of debris.
  • Cleaning the pool area by sweeping debris and removing leaves or other debris.
  • Empty trash receptacles as needed.
  • Ensure the pool deck area is tidy and furniture is clean and in good condition.
  • Enforce pool rules.
  • Maintain and clean the pool bathrooms routinely.
  • Ensure safety equipment is present and win working order.
  • Checks first aid kit for needed supplies on a daily basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school education (some education required, diploma/GED preferred)
  • Ability to physically operate the pool equipment.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain a calm demeanor under pressure.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Willingness to work on weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Strong swimming capability.


Working Conditions

This job operates in the outdoors. Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in full sun and extreme heat. This role may be required to lift heavy objects, such as large bags/containers of pool chemicals, and may require the individual to move large objects, such as lounge chairs, tables and table umbrellas, to clean the pool.
