Position Title: Supervisor Maintenance (Energy & Weld Shop)

Compensation:

Full-time, Salary Grade E49 commensurate with experience.

Scope & Responsibilities of Supervisor Maintenance Energy & Weld Shop: (Not limited to)

· Assist maintenance planner(s) with preparation, scheduling, assigning, and evaluating completed energy/welding work to maintain a responsible accurate backlog.

· Assigns energy/welding technicians and necessary equipment to design, build, monitor, test, maintain and repair all steam traps, steam system maintenance, pipe fab and installation, other welding maintenance and repair problems.

· Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems to keep Refinery operating continuously and safely.

· Communicates project activities and/or events to provide coordination with other maintenance or process areas as required.

· Assumes responsibility for all energy and welding shop equipment, parts inventory, tools, and safety equipment; maintains appropriate inspection records and documentation.

· Application of all welding/energy codes and standards in accordance with industry and operational best practice.

· Conducts regular safety meetings with assigned team members and ensures departmental compliance with ARG's environmental, safety and health policies and procedures.

· Develop, evaluate, and update written procedures for assigned areas.

· Provides daily direction to team members; monitors and approves employee time-keeping records.

· Perform QA/QC inspections of departmental work on a regular basis and correct deviations.

· Collaborates with engineering, reliability, process personnel and outside contractors in the development and installation of all piping and energy systems, welding items, issues, and equipment.

· Responsible for daily monitoring of Energy, Welding and Fitting activities (including continuous improvement work methods, equipment, and facilities) and reporting performance to management.

· Strives to ensure ongoing development of team members through coaching and regular performance feedback.

· Communicates measures of performance and recommends performance ratings.

· Assess candidates and provide recommendations to support the hiring process.

· Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management.

Education & Experience for Supervisor Maintenance Energy & Weld Shop:

· Associate degree in welding or related field from an accredited two-year college or technical school with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

· Ten or more (10+) years of Energy & Welding experience including GMAW, SMAW, GTAW and brazing techniques with working knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME BPVC.VIII and IX fabrication and welding is preferred.

· Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or American Welding Society Supervisor (AWSS) certification with experience managing teams of ten or more employees is desirable.

· High degree of knowledge in all refinery operations, including maintenance areas, is preferred.

· Proficient in general business technologies (ie: phone, fax, scanners, and computers) including Microsoft Office Suite of applications as well as other applicable software.

Other Qualifications of Supervisor Maintenance Energy & Weld Shop:

· High level proficiency in and knowledge of Energy & Welding practices, processes and procedures including code repairs.

· Ability to work independently or as a valuable team member to accomplish tasks and complete projects on time and on budget.

Provide leadership to direct the work of colleagues and shows effective communication style with ability to convey written and oral instructions.

· Able to successfully prioritize and handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.

· Demonstrates strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities that generate timely and cost-effective solutions.

· Effectively evaluates the various skillset within the team and recommends training and development opportunities to enhance.

· Exhibit servant leadership by collaborating and partnering with internal and external stakeholders.

· Required to successfully complete continuing education courses as required to satisfactorily perform the duties of this position.

· Successful completion of all company mandated &/or job-related training programs deemed appropriate.

· Valid Driver's License.

Physical & Cognitive Demands of Supervisor Maintenance Energy & Weld Shop:

COGNITIVE DEMANDS: includes the ability to meet deadlines, focus attention, work independently or within a team, perform repetitive tasks, assess spatial relations, communicate effectively, read, and comprehend, interpret information, organize, think critically, and troubleshoot.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: seeing, speaking, hearing, smelling, kneeling, stooping, sitting, walk/climb/crawl, stand/reach, listen, writing, physical coordination, driving, climbing, twisting/bending, depth perception, assembling parts, keyboarding, push/pull/lift/carry or otherwise transport 50 pounds.

Must be capable of climbing and working in elevated locations or confined spaces in all weather conditions.

Work in various indoor and outdoor environments in extreme heat or cold with exposure to hazardous materials.

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and moderate noise levels.

Able to wear Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) and use all types of respiratory equipment including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

May be required to work overtime, holidays, weekends scheduled time off &/or shift work as required to support plant operations.

Occasional travel may be necessary.
