Dental Hygenist

After 40+ years of dedicated service to the practice, first as a dental assistant and then as a dental hygienist, our beloved hygienist retired suddenly for personal reasons and we are so sad to see her leave and looking for an amazing and talented dental hygienist who will do their best to continue the amazing care the retiring hygienist provided.

We are a small private full service, comprehensive care dental practice and pride ourselves in providing our patients with compassionate and patient centric care in a state of the art office.

We are looking to fill the position for Tuesday 8-5, Wednesday 8-5 and alternating Saturdays 8-2 but for the right candidate are flexible in days

Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including dental cleanings, scaling, and root planning
- Take and develop dental x-rays and intraoral images
- Conduct oral cancer screenings and periodontal assessments
- Educate patients on their clinical conditions, proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral health recommendations
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures as required

Requirements:
- Valid dental hygiene license in New York
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a dental hygienist
- Proficient in Dentrix or similar dental software for patient management
- Knowledge of dental coding for insurance billing purposes
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and record medical history information
- Experience with co-diagnosis, pre-heating the dentist, and patient education is a plus
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control protocols

- Proficient in using iTero, CBCT, Intra Oral Camera imaging equipment for diagnostic purposes and if not proficient, be will to learn and grow your skills as a professional

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Education:

• Registered Dental Hygiene, Oversees Dentists licensed as RDH are welcome

Experience:

• Dental Hygiene: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Registered Dental Hygienist (Required)
• CPR Certification (Preferred)
