Manufacturing Sheet Metal Bench Worker

Reports to: Production Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking a Sheet Metal Bench Worker who will support the Production Department of our manufacturing company located in Humble, Texas. The candidate will work at minimum 40 hours per week and occasionally overtime.

Responsibilities:

• Must possess knowledge of HVAC sheet metal products and use of machinery to fabricate.
• Prepare and operate press brakes, hand rollers, crimping/bending machines, and jog machines.
• Read and interpret drawings or blueprints to fabricate and assemble specific sheet metal products.
• Crimp, jog, clinch or roll necessary materials and machinery.
• Ensure that the efficiency is maximized while fabricating.
• Measure and lay out necessary materials and machinery needed for each task.
• Maintain safe practices during all on-the-job activities that include but are not limited to the proper use of safeguards and proper use of PPE.
• Must own basic hand tools.
• Train others to properly fabricate sheet metal products.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Five to ten years’ experience
• High school diploma

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects with similar priorities.
• Communicate effectively with staff.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and time management
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and stay on task.
• Self-motivated, decisive and have the ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional skills in Microsoft Suites, SmartSheets, and Teams
