Job Title: Scrub Tech

Responsible To: Lead Scrub Tech/OR

Responsible For: OR Scrub

Overtime Status: Non-Exempt

Job summary: Seeking Full Time Scrub Tech in very busy Ambulatory Surgery Center to support 1- Plastics and 3- Oculo-Facial Plastic Surgeons in Tacoma. The position is 32 to 40 hours per week with an option for paid overtime during infrequent busy periods. Our center hours are M-F, we are closed all weekends, evenings and holidays. Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Performs specified functions to meet the requirements of each approved procedure
2. Assembles supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physician preference cards
3. Inspects equipment for scheduled proper working condition
4. Follows principles of septic technique when opening sterile packages and preparing for the procedure
5. Confirms that instruments work properly
6. Maintains availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays
7. Assists in maintaining adequate supplies in the OR for immediate access during procedures
8. Assists in storing and stocking supplies/works closely with Materials Manager
9. Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the surgeon
10. Maintains current CPR certification
11. Compliance with HIPAA/OSHA and AAAHC
12. Other duties as assigned

Education requirements:

1. High School Diploma or GED required
2. Completion of Scrub Tech Program
3. CST certification preferred

Experience Requirements:

1. 2 years of previous operating experience
2. ASC experience preferred

Performance Requirements:

1. Computer proficiency
2. Ability to sit, walk, and stand for long periods
3. Physical strength for equipment needs and patient-care activities
4. Visual and auditory acuity for timely responsiveness and patient-care activities
5. Ability to move quickly in response to patient needs
