Position: Cathodic Protection Inspector / Consultant (mid-tier experience level)

Division: Infrastructure Group (Water/Wastewater)

This role is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

CPI is looking for a hands-on individual to join our team as a mid-tier Cathodic Protection Inspector/Consultant. Our ideal candidate will be a resident of the Norwell, MA area and will be expected to successfully handle the following day-to-day tasks:

  • Support Cathodic Protection related field work activities, including performing resistivity measurements, potential measurements, closed-internal surveys, rectifier testing, and troubleshooting for both Sacrificial Anode and Impressed Current systems.
  • Field inspection and assessment of structures and components - i.e., steel, reinforced concrete, coatings.
  • Assist in performing soil/water corrosiveness assessments that provide the basis for CP systems design.
  • Take diligent notes, careful measurements, and record data.
  • Write technical reports to clearly document findings in an efficient manner.
  • Construction inspection of current projects to ensure quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Travel to local and non-local industrial facilities.*
  • Physical Requirements: this position requires the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, lift and carry +/-50lbs on occasion, using power tools for sample collection, as well as working at varying heights and in confined spaces.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Required:

  • Protective CP systems knowledge/experience and related certifications including NACE/AMPP Cathodic Protection (CP) level 1 or 2.
  • 3 to 10 years of experience with Cathodic Protection systems.
  • Diligence, teamwork, strong organizational skills, integrity, and taking pride in your work.
  • Desire to grow and develop in a technical career field and become an industry expert in asset integrity.
  • Perform daily tasks described above.

 

Preferred:

  • Corrosion knowledge and/or water/wastewater industry experience.
  • Construction/industrial site safety knowledge.

 

NOTES:

  • *TRAVEL - Travel is typically for short-duration assignments on a moderate basis; estimated ~25%, or one week per month, on average with occasional peaks (travel for several weeks consecutively). Local travel to job sites (~2 hours) for inspections is common.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are a must.
  • Final candidates will be required to submit all relevant certifications and licenses for verification purposes.
  • This position will require enrollment in the DOT Drug Testing Program, which involves randomized drug screenings.
