HVAC Construction Superintendent

Summary

The HVAC Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects, ensuring timely completion within budget while upholding safety standards and promoting positive client relationships. Organize personnel, monitor progress, implement training programs, and enforce company policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Organize, schedule, and deploy necessary personnel to ensure timely project completion within budget constraints. Develop manpower loading schedules with appropriate qualifications.
• Regularly visit project sites to monitor progress, schedules, and adherence to completion requirements. Provide necessary support and guidance to ensure project success.
• Uphold and promote company vision and value statements. Implement company philosophy regarding human relations and ensure understanding among project team members.
• Implement specific trade-related training and educational programs. Assist in the development of corporate and supervisor manuals.
• Participate in kick-off and planning meetings to understand project requirements and offer practical advice on schedules and budget management.
• Enforce company safety policies and procedures on the project site. Attend monthly safety meetings to stay updated on safety standards and concerns.
• Develop project standards from company standards and contract documents. Recommend changes in methods, schedules, and procedures for project improvement.
• Analyze material handling methods with foremen and project managers to maximize productivity. Ensure timely delivery of materials to the construction site.
• Coordinate with foremen to meet tool and equipment needs of the project. Monitor equipment start-up to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Promote and enhance positive client relationships throughout the project duration.
• Assist in estimating tasks, including task code set up and cost control feedback. Assist in purchasing materials and equipment in accordance with company procedures.
• Attend project progress meetings and production/operation meetings as necessary to stay informed and contribute to project success.

Experience and Skills:

• Proven experience in HVAC construction management or related field.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, construction processes, and safety regulations.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve effectively.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, type, and operate office technology such as computers, printers, copy machines, and calculators.
• Ability to work in various outdoor and indoor environments, including construction sites.
• Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects and equipment.
• Must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to distinguish colors and engage in repetitive fine manipulation frequently.
• Capable of navigating uneven surfaces and climbing ladders.
• May be exposed to temperature changes and confined spaces.
