Position Overview: As a sales specialist, you'll drive sales of Northeast Dock & Door products and services in assigned territories, exceeding revenue targets. Cultivate strong customer relationships through effective communication and initiative, ensuring client needs are met efficiently. This role offers independence in meeting sales goals while fostering valuable business connections for the company.

This role involves a range of services related to sales, including but not limited to the following:

  • Meeting with current and potential customers in person or remotely to promote and sell equipment and services. Inquiries regarding product offerings, pricing, and delivery information must be followed up on promptly. Building and maintaining a good relationship with customers is essential to promote a positive business relationship.
  • Generating and analyzing reports on daily sales and prospecting activities. Attending sales meetings to participate in sales forecasting and planning, assessing, updating, and modifying projected goals to increase revenue and sales.
  • Interacting with customers, sales, and delivery staff on quotes, pricing, and customer requirements.
  • Providing internal and external training as requested to support department and company objectives.
  • Responding to and resolving customer issues related to orders and products.
  • Completing administrative duties, such as preparing expense accounts, forecasting sales call planning schedules and call reports, creating customer correspondence and reports, and accurately completing order forms.

To be successful in this role, the following skills and abilities are required:

  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative in meeting sales and revenue goals.
  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques and the ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
  • Ability to interpret plan drawings and bid packages.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to gather data, analyze information, solve problems and prepare reports.
  • Ability to find and follow up on sales leads and referrals. Computer proficiency in sending and receiving email messages, posting information to a database or spreadsheet, and performing basic word processing and/or data entry. Flexibility to travel regularly, including before/after normal work hours, and occasional overnight stays.
  • Ability to embrace the T&J Stability Triangle.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of outside sales experience is required. Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred. Experience in Dock and Door, Project Management, or Construction is preferred.
