Job Description

SUMMARY

Perform radiological duties in compliance with x-ray department and legal requirements. Help patients feel comfortable during the entire process. Perform selected nursing, administrative, and clerical duties that assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management under the direction of a Physician. These duties are delegated in relation to the individual's degree of training, in accordance with the objectives and policies of the organization and respective state laws governing such action and activities.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced insurance or health care setting.
  • Strong organization and process management skills.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred; must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Basic computer skills; proficiency in Excel, Word and Access is essential
  • Strong people skill, independent decision making and customer service oriented.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts all activities in a polite, courteous and professional manner and abides by company policies and procedures.
  • Complies with HIPPA regulations.
  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Protect patients, yourself and staff from radiation exposure by practicing sound procedures which meet or exceed recommended industry standards.
  • Develop and process radiological film.
  • Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by Physician, PA, or NP. Maintain a repeat rate of two percent or less.
  • Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Log completed radiological procedures. Complete paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Identify or scan reports as required.
  • Maintain x-ray room, clean and stock necessary radiological supplies.
  • Request retrieve and track records to and from other departments or centers.
  • Work closely with the Physician to receive guidance and instruction for treating patients.
  • Makes suggestions to improve work methods.
  • Trains new employees.
  • Check the equipment every day.
  • Always maintain machine running properly.
  • Report immediately any equipment malfunctions to Supervisor.
  • Check supplies for daily operation and order as needed.
  • Explain procedures to the patients.
  • Clean and keep the room organize.
  • Ability to answer phones, schedule/reschedule appointments and transportation.
  • Ability to check-in / check-out patients in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ability to verify patient insurance eligibility and report any policy cancelations or erroneous PCP assignations to the patient center manager.
  • Ability to obtain a referral authorization for all plan types as well as schedule diagnostic, specialist, and surgical procedures with or without transportation.
  • Ability to confirm appointments and schedule/reschedule as needed.
  • Assist patients and providers in connecting remotely in order to facilitate Telehealth Services.
  • Train patients and/or other team members on the use of Telehealth Services at either the center and/or patient's place of residence.
  • Ability and flexibility with work schedule and location, to include weekends as needed
  • Ability and flexibility to conduct medical assistant duties as ordered by PCP at the center and/or patient's place of residence.
  • Able to demonstrate the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Able to follow all safety and universal precautions.
  • Must have a clean and active driver's license as well as provide proof of car insurance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
