We are looking for like-minded, dynamic individuals to come and join our team.

ABOUT US
The Caring Place provides emergency shelter, residential programs, job training, education & computer literacy classes, healthcare, transitional housing, permanent housing, employment opportunities for homeless men, women, and children as well as programs for “at-risk” youth.

We are currently seeking full-time Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance at our facilities in Broward and Miami Dade.

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Manager (MM) reports to the Director of Social Enterprises. This position oversees the Maintenance departments in Broward and Miami Dade. The (MM) ensures completion of all maintenance projects in a timely and safe manner, at the lowest feasible cost and works on all plumbing related work orders/projects.

DUTIES

Perform all plumbing repairs/maintenance on all The Caring Place’s properties in Miami and Broward
Supervises a team of maintenance supervisor’s, workers and CSA clients assigned to the maintenance department
Performs repairs in a timely manner and keeps the Director of Social Enterprises informed of progress
Keeps inventory of all department tools, materials and equipment and ensures that they are maintained and in good working order
Inspects and tests machinery and equipment on a regular basis
Installs replacement equipment accurately and efficiently
Recognizes and rewards top performers and addresses any areas that need improvement
Assists Director of Social Enterprises with routine safety and maintenance inspections and enforces safety regulations
Serves as mentor to fellow employees and residents assigned to the maintenance department
Maintains a positive working relationship with Guest Services to ensure facilities are safe and equipment is operating efficiently
Attends company sponsored events to support the residents we serve
Must agree with and sign The Caring Place Statement of Faith
Performs other related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Must have a High School diploma or GED with training in plumbing maintenance; Licensed Journeyman Plumber preferred
Requires at least five (5) years plumbing experience and three (3) years maintenance/plumbing supervisory experience
Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License (4 points max)
Must be knowledgeable of acceptable construction standards and can use manual, battery-operated and electrical hand and trades type tools
Must be able to read blueprints and be able to read, write and speak fluent English
Must be computer literate have experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Must be proficient using electronic technology i.e. cell phone, laptop and computer

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have the ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Must have the ability to climb into overhead structures or step down into holes to work beneath or above machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work
Must also be able to see, hear and speak, in order to interact with staff and the general public
Must be able to move around the facilities unassisted as needed to perform essential job duties
