Monday - Friday 7AM - 3:30 PM daily.

What you'll do:

Production team members are responsible for assisting with overall production requirements for incoming and outgoing products. The Fire Protection Shop Technicial will collect and fill the fire protection agents into various bulk tanks and system bottles.

Key Responsibilities:

· Transfers compressed fire suppression gas from smaller tanks to bulk tanks and transfers compressed gas into finished cylinders

· Operating the cylinder tracking computer system

· Operate and maintain equipment in the production facility including, but not limited to, compressors, pumps, filling stations, and forklifts. Works with cylinders, valves, hoses, overhead hoists, scales, hand tools, and pressure gauges

· Monitors processing equipment performance and makes minor adjustments such as setups, calibrations, troubleshooting, and product testing

· Inspects and examines cylinders for defects, dents, and cracks prior to collecting specialty gases

· Demonstrate the ability to be a safety leader by fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring a safe work environment with a commitment to zero injuries, emissions, and leaks

· Must safely operate a forklift, and overhead crane when necessary

· Understands hazards of various gases, size and contents of cylinders by reading safety data sheets and cylinder labels as required

· Ensures that processed product meets established regulatory, customer, and A-Gas internal requirements and specifications.

· Follows quality protocol concerning required documentation of verifications and the documentation, notification, and handling of non-conformities.

· Assist the supervisor with tracking incoming and outgoing production inventory.

· Maintain high standards of housekeeping and support 5S and lean project initiatives.

· Other duties as assigned.

Certifications Required:

· EPA 608 certification required upon hire or must be obtained within 90 days

· Must be able to obtain certification within 60 days of employment for forklift and overhead crane.

· Any other department-specific certifications as required

Qualifications

o High School diploma or GED required

o Ability to work overtime hours including weekends when necessary

o Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hand tools

o Ability to learn technical chemical processes, gas terminology, cylinder types, and sizes quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

o Knowledge of and experience working pressure vessels and gas pipelines

o Ability to communicate concisely and effectively in written and verbal formats with stakeholders at multiple levels in the business

o Works well with others and independently

o Organized with great attention to detail

o Self-motivated individual, capable of working with minimum supervision

o Knowledge of 5S and Lean manufacturing

o Functional computer skills required, Microsoft suite.

o Ability to follow job instructions, be aware of job responsibilities, and meet KPIs

o Previous experience in a process operations environment preferred

o Material handling equipment familiarity

Physical Demand Requirements:   

· Frequently pushes, pulls, moves, and/or lifts up to 50 pounds independently

· Sitting 10% of the day; standing and/or walking 80-90% of the time

· Lifting/Carrying from one level to another approximately 20% of the time

· Occasionally moves cylinders that weigh up to 200 pounds with a four-wheel cart

· Frequently identifies written information on cylinders such as serial numbers, manufacture date, etc.

· Frequently operates a computer using a traditional keyboard to input detailed information such as serial numbers

· Manipulations (seizing, holding, grasping or otherwise working with hands) up to 50-75% of the day

· Frequently drives a motorized vehicle or powered industrial truck (i.e. Forklift) and safely maneuvers in restrictive spaces

· Stooping and kneeling up to 20% of the day

· Frequently communicates detailed information to others. Must be able to exchange accurate information that others can understand.

· Constantly works in environments with uncontrolled climate and frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions
