Assembler (Mechanical/Production)

- $18.00 per hour

Purpose: An Assembler ensures that product is assembled and packaged in accordance with customer policies.

Primary :

*Assembling product in a way to avoid rejections from customers by paying attention to all areas involved, whether large or small; by finding problems, identifying possible causes, and suggesting alternative solutions; and by assembling in accordance with NRL and customer standard operating procedures
*Use and monitor production tooling and equipment efficiently to prevent situations that could result in costly damage to the tools or result in lost production
*Inspect work and alert the supervisor of any issues in a timely manner. Complete documentation to verify quality processes/inspection, if applicable
*Provide backup for warehouse and inventory control when needed
*Package product in accordance with NRL and customer policies or prepare the product when finished for the shipping department
*Perform diverse tasks throughout NRL whenever demand for assembly product is low. Tasks may include deburring, tumbling, parts washing, etc.
*Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical demands
- Employee is required to: stand; walk; push, pull, reach, carry, and/or lift parts from the floor to above the head; exert 20
-50 pounds of force occasionally; exert 10
-25 pounds of force frequently; exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move parts, objects, tools, equipment and cleaning material.
Visual Acuity
- Acuity and accommodation to read measuring devices, machine gauges, drawings, travelers, notes, and equipment instruments. Must be good enough to perform tasks in a safe and productive manner.
Working conditions
- Employee is subject to high noise levels from working near and/or on operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts; breathing fumes, dust and mist; skin exposure to oils, cleaning and cutting fluids. Must wear safety equipment.
