Job Description

As part of our continued success, Landau Associates is seeking Early Career Air and Noise Specialists to join our team. The position will be based in one of the following locations: Seattle, WA, Tacoma, WA, Baton Rouge, LA, Houston, TX, Nashville, TN, or Tampa, FL.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Contribute to project work by completing technical assignments as a member of a multi-disciplined team
  • Performing air quality and noise evaluations and tasks that may include:
    • Preparation of quantitative air quality emission estimates and potential-to-emit calculations
    • Coordination of emission source testing/exhaust sampling
    • Conducting research in support of Best Achievable Control Technology (BACT) analyses
    • Preparation and execution of refined air dispersion modeling (e.g., AERMOD)
    • Conducting field work related to noise monitoring
    • Noise modeling of industrial and traffic sources, including noise mitigation assessment
  • Reviewing local, state, and federal regulations that apply to a wide variety of industrial source groups to assess applicability and compliance.
  • Interfacing with clients, regulators, and colleagues on a project-specific basis.

This position is available for the candidate who has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Environmental Science, or related field. A Master’s degree in one of these fields is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting air quality dispersion or noise modeling would be ideal.
  • Experience characterizing air pollutant emissions sources.
  • Experience with Python, “R” software, and Linux is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Landau Associates offers an excellent compensation and benefits package in an environment that promotes personal growth and professional advancement. The salary range for this position is $70,000 – $87,500. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, including education, experience, performance, location, and internal equity.
