Deli Clerk - Heater/Runner

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for the cooking and reheating of food for the hot bar and soup bar.
• Following all food safety guidelines throughout the shift including filling out all cook and cooling logs.
• Setting up and breaking down of hot bar/soup bar stations. Including proper cool down procedure of all products.
• Maintaining the appearance of the hot bar/soup bar throughout the shift.  Including garnishing, replating, and adding water to product. Responsible for the hot bar looking clean, full, and fresh all hours of the day.
• Must have experience cooking and using steamers, fryers, stoves and ovens. Must be Able to follow recipes and cook dishes quickly as needed.
• Conveys excellent customer service with hot bar as well as stepping in at the Deli counter when needed. Helping the deli team with duties when time allows.

Job Requirements:

• To perform the job of Deli Clerk within Piazza’s Fine Foods, the Deli Clerk must be able to all duties and responsibilities in an efficient and responsible manner that meets the minimum standard for productivity, cleanliness, harmony, and safety as defined by Piazza’s Fine Foods.
• Hold a High School diploma or GED. 
• Possess the ability to interpret a variety of instructions in diagram, oral, schedule or written form. 
• Possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of issues that may arise.
• Be fully knowledgeable and thoroughly familiar with all products carried in the department. 
• Possess the ability to handle special orders or requests from customers accurately, and,
• Possess sufficient memory retention to memorize weekly ad prices and sale items.

Physical Requirements: 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand for long periods of time, and use his/her hands to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools or controls;  the employee must frequently walk, talk, or hear, and reach with his/her arms including periodic stretching;  the employee must be able to lift 50 pounds at least once per shift;  the employee must be able to climb a ladder to retrieve items from overhead racks and storage areas, sweep and mop  floors, and carry out the trash;  the employee must have sufficient physical ability to respond quickly to fire or other emergencies such as clean up requests for due to accidental spillage or breakage of glass;  the employee must be able to tolerate dust, chemical  fumes from common household cleaning agents such as ammonia during routine housekeeping duties;  must be able to tolerate temperature changes in both heated cooking areas and refrigerated storage areas for 20 minutes at a time.
