Toddler classroom; Teacher Aide position-

Toddler age - Teacher Aide Position: (10:00am-6:00pm)

This position is fast paced. You will be engaging in fine and gross motor skill play with toddlers, changing diapers doing laundry, & cleaning and sanitizing toys multiple times a day and more. Must be able to be a calm presence for the classroom. 1 years of age is the age of the children.

Responsibilities

• Develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children.
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children.
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments.
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
• Roll out nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times.
• Track children’s progress and report to parents.
• Collaborate with other educators.
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.

Skills

• Proven experience with children
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Ability to act as mediator between children.
• Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable

Job Types: Full-time

Salary: Starting at $15.00 - competitive salary; depending on experience.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred but not required)

Qualifications:

1. Must have one of the following:
2. High School Diploma
3. Minimum 6 months experience directly working with young children.
4. Must have or apply for (prior to beginning work) a Fingerprint Clearance Card.
5. Must be First Aid and CPR trained.
6. Must enjoy working with children and be able to relate to them and their parents.
7. Must be in excellent health and provide proof of immunizations and a negative TB test.
8. Must be at least 18 years of age.
9. Must have an education philosophy that complements the philosophy of Prince of Peace Preschool.
10. Must be reliable and conscientious in carrying out assigned duties.
11. Must demonstrate a patient and loving attitude towards children.
12. Must submit all required paperwork before beginning work.
13. Must be physically able to complete the functions of the position, including but not limited to, lifting and carrying children.
14. Must be comfortable teaching the Christian faith to students.
15. Must be open and willing to work with other aides, teachers, teachers' assistants and administrators in a cooperative and respectful manner.
