What’s the role?

 

As Corporation Accountant you will personally perform the complete local finance function using SAP B1 to enter all transactions to the accounting records and Avalara to ensure full tax compliance. This will include both purchase and sales ledgers from start to finish, raising invoices, credit control for both business and consumer customers, supplier statement reconciliations, resolving queries, controlling and processing payments, reconciling bank accounts and taking monthly accounts up to trial balance within 4 working days of each month end.

On a day-to-day basis you will be reporting to the local Office Manager in Minneapolis, but on financial matters will take direction from the Financial Controller in UK to help ensure compliance and reliable reporting of Millboard Inc results at Group level.

 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Record daily financial transactions, promptly completing all postings
  • Reconcile bank accounts, company credit cards, and petty cash
  • Prepare and send sales invoices to customers
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, follow up overdue payments
  • Credit control and credit insurance
  • Maintain robust, accurate records, create financial reports
  • Assist and advise with payroll and audits
  • Maintain and file financial documents and records
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local financial and tax laws and regulations
  • Communicate with internal and external parties regarding financial matters
  • Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned
  • Ensure Confidentiality of sensitive information

 

Your Background and Experience:

 

  • Minimum of 3 years bookkeeping and accounting experience
  • Relevant qualifications an advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and an ERP system
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and procedures
  • Good knowledge and experience of all US tax and compliance requirements, experience in using Avalara software is an advantage
  • Ability to prepare and analyse financial reports and statements
  • Accurate and diligent giving attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, professional, trustworthy and hardworking
