About the job

We are fully integrated highway, heavy construction, asphalt paving, concrete paving, and site-development general contractor providing construction services throughout the state of Indiana and beyond. Due to company growth, we are currently looking to add an Estimator.

Estimator Job Summary

Generates cost estimates and new business opportunities in assigned markets

Essential Functions

Generates and develops cost estimates
Analyzes plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare bids/quotes
Computes various cost factors
Prepares budgets for various disciplines of work
Ensures all estimates meet or exceed company and customer's expectations, as well as regulatory requirements
Develops beneficial business relationships
Develops good working relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and INDOT personnel
Develops a network of contacts within the community
Develops good relationships internally
Performs day-to-day estimating tasks
Sets up jobs in job costing
Attends pre-bid and pre-construction meetings
Generates purchase orders and subcontractor agreements
Prepares change orders, submittals, and assists with other tasks as necessary to support the project team
Tracks and reviews cost history and incorporates into operational buy in review meetings
Communicates with internal/external customers.
Answers inquiries via phone, email, or in-person.
Provides highest levels of customer service.
Makes presentations to large and small groups
Translates technical information into easily understood language
Promotes and maintains safe work environment.
Exhibits safe work behaviors
Wears all prescribed PPE

Preferred Education And Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Technology, Construction Management, related field, or equivalent work experience.
Previous experience in cost estimating. Experience in civil estimating is preferred, but not required.
