As the public face of Circle Line and an ambassador for New York City, you are responsible for leading sightseeing tours on our boats describing landmarks, the rich history of NYC and other pertinent historical references in an engaging, educational, and entertaining style. You must be an accredited tour guide with deep knowledge and expertise in New York history who loves telling stories in public. You are expected to provide exemplary guest experience with sensitivity and enthusiasm, [PW1] guided by an understanding that you are making life-long memories for Circle Line’s 1 million customers from 250 countries around the world.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct Engaging Tours: Lead captivating in-person tours that delve into the city’s history and culture while highlighting visual landmarks from the waterfront.
- Storytelling: Skillfully narrate historical and contemporary stories that will impact, educate, and engage our guest. Stays informed about important activities and/or events that occur in New York City
- Making Memories: Circle Line is dedicated to creating unique life-long memories for its guests.
- Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service by interacting with participants, answering questions, and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Marine Qualifications: As a member of the marine crew, interacting with the rest of crew, following instructions as necessary, in a professional manner and assisting others when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed, accredited New York City Tour Guide with a minimum of 2 years' experience providing tours.
- Charismatic, energetic, knowledgeable, friendly, and strong customer service/interpersonal skills
- Extensive Knowledge of New York City and its history
- Self-starter with ability to work independently.
- Strong verbal communication skills with an ability communicate clearly using a positive attitude and a clear speaking voice while walking and moving through our vessels.
- Ability to work a varied schedule that includes weekends and evenings.
- Bi-lingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
