Position Overview:
Join our dynamic team as a Test Engineer Technician, responsible for providing essential support to our repair depot, functional, and in-circuit test fixtures. As part of this role, you will be training test personnel in fixture usage and supporting the overall test requirements of our production processes. Your technical expertise will be highly valuable as you become a resource for production, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of products, subassemblies, hardware, and test processes for our valued customers.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize your strong ability to read and interpret schematics, mechanical, and assembly drawings.
- Apply basic circuit analysis techniques (KVL, KCL, Ohm's Law) to test and troubleshoot electronic products.
- Demonstrate proficiency with common electronics testing equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
- Utilize routine test or diagnostic equipment and learn to use software tools effectively.
- Work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision, following written and verbal engineering instructions and test procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and seek opportunities to enhance work processes.
- Diagnose issues and document root causes of electronic failures, determining appropriate rework actions.
- Provide valuable Test Engineering support to operations, working closely with Test Engineers.
- Collaborate as an effective member of a technical team, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
- Record test results and measurement data using MES, Excel, or other methods as required.
- Support engineering projects and actively participate in continuous improvement activities.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or equivalent (e.g., military training/trade school) in electronics or electrical/electronic technology with 5+ years of Test Technician experience.
- 7+ years of experience as a Test Engineering Technician in the OEM/EMS industry.
- Experience with environmental chamber operation and support.
- Proficiency with vibration table operation and support.
- Familiarity with ATE (Automated Test Equipment) operation and support.
- ETA Certification is a strong plus.
- IPC 610 certification.
