PATH is seeking candidates passionate about helping others make a positive change in their lives to join our Site Based Housing Team as the Activities Coordinator at the Vela Apartments office location.

ABOUT PATH
Since its foundation in 1984, PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) has pioneered bold and effective approaches to assist people experiencing homelessness. PATH operates services throughout California, connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention, street outreach, employment preparation and placement assistance, individualized case management, supportive services, interim housing, and permanent supportive housing.

ABOUT THE JOB
The Activities Coordinator will offer activities in an interim housing, site based housing, and/or permanent housing setting for individuals and/or families, integrating evidenced based practices effective with tenants who have experienced homelessness and have a history of chronic health, mental health, and/or co-occurring conditions

Position Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and lead workshops and activities designed to assist clients in maintaining stable housing and integrating into the community in the areas of, but not limited to: independent living skills, housing stabilization, money management, community integration, employment, benefits establishment, linkages to community providers for problematic substance use, primary and mental health care, and all other services needed to assist clients in reaching their treatment plan goals.
  • Perform initial needs and interest surveys to ensure activities are tailored to the specific needs of the residential community.
  • Create a monthly calendar of activities including programming at least 2x/week, including at least 1 community integration outing, 1 guest speaker, and 1 skill building class (health living, recovery, social enterprise, etc.).
  • Schedule residential outings coordinating with community partners and volunteers.
  • Provide accurate information regarding referral procedures, orientations, workshops and overall VV services activities to clients and other PATH Programs.
  • Provide oversight of the use of residential community spaces.
  • Maintain inventory of donations, supplies and all other resources.

  • Ethics and Boundaries: Maintain ethical and professional standards, demonstrating honesty, integrity, and a commitment to doing the right thing in all situations while maintaining professional boundaries.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in healthcare, case management, homeless services or working with vulnerable populations or a related field.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • All levels of education and experience welcome.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Regardless of qualifications, candidates must:

  • Have employment eligibility verification
  • Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
  • Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:
    • Tuberculosis Test
    • Background Screening
    • Drug Test

DRIVING
Driving is an essential function of this position. To meet the employment requirements for this role, all candidates must:

  • Have reliable transportation
  • A valid driver's license
  • Proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties
  • The ability to qualify for PATH's insurance coverage

FLEXIBLE WORK
We are a California employer. Therefore, all regular and customary work must be performed within the state. Approval for work outside of the office, does not establish approval for work to be conducted outside of California.
