Job Description

Source Inspector is responsible for a wide range of Quality functions supporting FAI and Assembly Inspection operations. Follow programs, documents, FAI, drawings, specifications and quality standards to perform inspection functions.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Five (5) or more years in Aerospace Receiving and/or Final Inspection
  • Five (5) or more years working with AS9102 FAIs
  • Five (5) or more year of aerospace applied experience and/or training in quality systems, ISO9001, AS9100 or FAA.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools/equipment including but not limited to caliper, micrometer, height gage, hardness and conductivity.
  • Familiar with surface finish, edge preparation and general appearance of machined parts.
  • Familiar with outside processing certifications
  • Knowledgeable of Engineering drawings/models
  • Basic knowledge of CATIA and GD&T
  • Possesses the ability to work and interface effectively with Sales and Marketing, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Suppliers, Customers and Government Representatives.
  • Reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes, to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.
  • Excellent PC skills utilizing ERP systems (MAPICS) MS Office, Excel, Access, Word, and Visio.
  • An understanding of AS9100 quality systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of configuration and data management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Must work well in a team environment and commit to driving continuous improvement.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with FAA, OSHA, EPA, and related state and federal regulations.
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien or otherwise able to review all export controlled technical information.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform first article inspections in accordance with AS9102 and customer specific requirements.
  • Quality compliance with AS9100 standards.
  • Supplier compliance
  • Communicates with internal customers
  • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned
