POSITION SUMMARY

The Substance Use Counselor is a licensed mental health professional who provides drug and alcohol counseling to students and families. In addition to ongoing counseling, the Substance Use Counselor performs intake/assessment, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration with the broader care team. This position presents the opportunity to have a high impact on youth clients in their most comfortable and accessible setting, in addition to the opportunity for extensive collaboration and growth.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• A Master’s Degree is required.
  A license in Maryland for Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LCADC, LGADC, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, ADT) is required and candidates must be in good standing with the licensing board.
• A clinical license in social work, counseling or marriage and family therapy in Maryland (LPC, LCPC, LCSW, LMSW, LCMFT, LMFT) is desired. Candidates must be in good standing with the licensing board.
• Experience with child and/or adolescent mental health strongly preferred
• Experience working with students and families, plus community health and social service agencies is preferred
• Effective problem solving and communication skills
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using a computer
• Must be able to complete thorough clinical documentation

Employment with Interdynamics is contingent upon completing screening requirements (including, but not limited to, Criminal Background Check and State Child Abuse Registry Clearance).
