Role Summary:
A Detailer's role is to clean vehicle interiors and exteriors in compliance with all company standards and client requests. Operating buffers, steamers, hoses, vacuums, and other equipment to meet service expectations. Using cleaning, protective, and restorative agents to maintain and enhance the appearance of vehicles.
Key Duties:
· Wash and clean all vehicles in compliance will all Company standards and client’s request.
· Ensure all windows and sunroof are closed, automatic wipers are disabled, and the car can run through the machine before taking it to the car wash.
· Always double-check your work after finished to make sure the vehicle is clean and move/park the vehicle to the designated area.
· Inform Management if any products, materials, or tools are needed.
· Always follow Management directions.
· Properly handle products and wash towels.
· Always follow safety procedures.
· Car detailers must know how to perform clay, polish, and wax services which requires knowledge to operate buffers, hoses, and other equipment to meet service expectations, using cleaning, protective, and restorative agents to maintain and enhance the appearance of vehicles (compounds, polishers, waxes, and sealants for example).
Vehicle Interior Procedure
· Interior carpet & mats: brush, vacuum, and shampoo rubber/carpet mats and interior fabrics (including trunk), install/remove sticky mats when needed.
· Accessories: make sure to clean the headliner, seatbelts, shift knob, steering wheel (+buttons/screen), glove box, seat lever, side panels, and inner trunk lid.
· Dashboard and console area: vacuum/wipe down the dashboard, console, center console, and cup holders.
· Leather & vinyl: vacuum, wipe down, and apply conditioner/stain remover when necessary.
· Windows/glass: clean vehicle windows inside, including windshield, sunroof, and rearview window and mirror, staying mindful of using the proper cleaning products when tinting agents have been applied to windows.
· Miscellaneous: Make sure to clean the Pedals, footrest, button gaps, door, and cup holder storage mats.
Vehicle Exterior Procedure
· Painted surfaces: wash, clay, remove contaminants, glue residues, and water spots, if necessary, apply wax and sealant
· Wheels and tires: wash and wipe wheels and apply tire dressing.
· Engine compartment: clean engine compartment covers and inner hood.
· Windows/glass: clean vehicle windows outside, including windshield, sunroof, rear window, and side mirrors.
· Trims/moldings: clean front grill, rocker panel, and panel gaps and dress plastic/rubber trims
· Miscellaneous: Wipe door sills and jambs, clean headlights, gas tank cap, and license plates, and polish chrome exhaust tips.
Requirements:Skills and Qualifications:
· Friendly with high energy and the willingness to go above and beyond.
· Highly responsible, professional, and reliable.
· Unrestricted California driver's license and clean driving record.
· Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles.
· Able to safely operate motor vehicles in tight and small spaces.
· Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
· Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Previous experience in a similar role is a plus.
· Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer and team members.
· Strive to respect and facilitate teamwork within all departments.

This role requires the use of common hand-held cleaning tools and power washing nozzle guns that will be rotated between Car Wash Porters to avoid injuries.
Safety Hazards Protocol and Disclosure for all Detailers
Safety is our priority. While the car wash is in operation there are several potential hazards that employees need to be aware of and react appropriately towards. Firstly, no vehicle should be directed into a car wash before it is checked whether anyone is walking across or in the area. Employees should keep eye contact with drivers when walking in front of their vehicles and keep a safe distance when walking behind them. Employees should not touch the car once it is moving through the car wash. Proper handling of products should be followed according to training application and safety guidelines.
Safety Gear is mandatory and part of the Car Wash Dress Code and Detailers as a Safety Protocol.
