Sr Software Engineer

PeopleConnect, Inc. has an opening for the position of Sr. Software Engineer (Ref# SSE423OM).

Work Location: 1687 114th Ave. SE, Suite 200, Bellevue, WA 98004. Position may work remotely (with at least 2 days a week in the office).

Job Duties: As part of the data development team, provide framework development, prototyping, and evaluation of newer technologies in support of the company’s communication platform and its sub-systems. Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical vision related to core development. Provide expert data analysis and support others doing analysis. Create platform improvements allowing for better functionality and insight. Work in an Agile team, performing code and design reviews. Deliver on time with high quality. Follow and encourage best practices such as technical documentation on the wiki. Work with technology and business stakeholders in gathering requirements and for delivery of projects through all phases and into production. Use of Java, Python, Scala, SQL, Hadoop, Spark, HBase, Sqoop, Oozie, Kafka, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Apache Airflow, Kubernetes, Terraform, NoSQL, MySQL, Postgres, JUnit, Mockito, and Linux/UNIX.

Requirements: This position requires a Master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years in a related occupation including Software Engineer or related experience. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of progressive experience in lieu of the required education and experience. Position requires 3 years of experience with Agile, AWS, Java, Python, Spark, NoSQL, Kafka, SQL, JUnit, Mockito, and Linux/UNIX. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein. 40hrs/week.
