Financial Analyst

SUMMARY This position provides the opportunity to be a key financial influencer for the Jelly Belly domestic sales team, facilitating key decisions related to sales and trade funds with a focus on ensuring profitable growth and adequate return on promotional investment. Financial oversight includes promotional spend review and ad-hoc customer analysis with an emphasis on maintaining sound financial controls around trade budget spending.

Responsible for the maintenance of pricing lists within the M3 ERP system. This position also supports the trade spend activities for the company including the management of Blue Planner, key customer accruals, deductions and reconciliations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Ensure promotional sales events are properly set-up and executed on a timely basis in the trade management System (Blue Planner)
• Train users, book trade spend accruals, and perform account reconciliations
• Collaborate with senior leaders in the development of a more robust trade spend program for key customers
• Drive monthly business review process including analytical review of promotional plan performance
• Communicate trade related sales growth expectations to the forecasting team
• Maintain and process pricing and discount revisions as needed
• Review new customer accounts to ensure accurate pricing set-up
• Create new order forms and prices lists as requested
• Distribute price lists to correct personnel in a timely fashion
• Update excel order forms, price lists and specification reports for all sales divisions
• Maintain information in Access data table to support item specs reports
• Support the AR processes by ensuring invoicing is complete and orders shipped have been invoiced
• Responsible for new year set up of invoice numbers in M3
• Balance and maintain work papers for assigned balance sheet and expense accounts
• Others duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor in Finance/Accounting or equivalent preferred,

3-5 years financial analysis experience in consumer goods company/industry preferred

Previous experience with Sales Finance a plus

Intermediate/Advanced in Excel and SAP (or other ERP System) preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

REASONING ABILITY Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
