Maintenance - Facility Improvement Specialist

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Burgess-Norton Mfg Co, Piston Pin Division, is seeking a Facility Improvement Specialist. This position will perform commercial grade painting and carpentry in all areas of the plant. Also, complete minor repairs and other tasks throughout the plant, as needed.

Duties: Work from instructions, prints, schematics, mechanical drawings and process specifications

1. Must have commercial painting and carpentry background.
2. Use of fall protection and elevated work in required in this position.
3. Independently troubleshoot problems and complete corrective actions.
4. Determine if machine parts can be repaired or replaced.
5. Independently correct maintenance problems in certain areas.
6. Assist outside contractors on specified work to be completed, when applicable.
7. Assist and advise Engineering and other support groups as required.
8. Perform necessary recordkeeping and paperwork.
9. Participate in team problem solving as part of the departmental continuous improvement process.
10. Use various testing devices and chemicals according to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
11. Perform material handling activities using equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, articulating lifts, according to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
12. Understand and performs ISO 14001 work instructions as identified in, “ISO 14001 Work Instruction Assignments”.
13. Follow all safety rules and keep work area clean and in an orderly condition.
14. Wear all personal protective equipment as required by the safety policy.
15. Be responsible and accountable for the professional use of assigned work periods, machinery, equipment and tools.
16. Understand and perform to the BN Quality Policy taking pride in the products produced

Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Education:

High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. Must successfully complete the pre-hire math test.

Experience:

Minimum of 5-10 years previous experience in facility and grounds maintenance.

Skills and Knowlege

Forklift operation, scissor lift, articulating lift, working from high elevations.
