Job Description

 

Our client, a major retailer to the plumbing, tools,  heat testing and fire sprinkler industries is seeking their Manager / Director of Purchasing Analytics.

 

  • Provides thought leadership, continually identifies and implements new opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance and proactively tracks progress towards these objectives. Uses data analytics, industry benchmarking and strategic sourcing methodologies to develop and execute sourcing strategies, business strategies, return on investment models, and change management programs to stakeholders and senior management. Implements and measures cost savings, reduction, and avoidance programs and strategies. Continually refines these programs to deliver optimal results for the company.
  • Serves as a trusted business advisor to stakeholders, providing best-in-class technical consulting from a sourcing and external benchmark/industry perspective.
  • Provides collaborative leadership to a team of individual contributors while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement in a dynamic and evolving business environment.
  • Helps builds a high-performance team; sets goals, delegates work, holds reports accountable; develops and empowers direct reports to make decisions and take action.
  • Demonstrates Company’s values, maintains a positive open demeanor, encourages different points of view, moves team forward through change; provides timely information; communicates context for business decisions; recognizes accomplishments; fosters teamwork and collaboration.
  • Leads the development, negotiation, and purchasing of sourcing projects and initiatives ensuring alignment with the overall priorities including Blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitoring costs during duration.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to define scope, identifying suppliers and developing internal recommendations.
  • Monitors inventory for inconsistencies.
  • Implements value-driven procurement programs that achieve internal savings targets and deliver enterprise wide process improvement. Continually addresses and resolves organizational barriers with agile decision making and outstanding communication of risk versus reward.

Preferred:

         Prior managerial experience in sourcing or procurement

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high visibility environment with frequently shifting priorities.
  • Lead and manage all procurement activities.
  • Must have, international/global procurement, and specifically, Asia Pacific.     
  • Manage and create procurement policies, procedures and programs with a focus on their ability to enhance organizational value and efficiency; meet regularly with respective departments regarding procurement for their understanding and/or recommendations to enhance policies, procedures and develop, communicate and implement new/revised policies, procedures and programs as needed.          
  • Activities include sourcing, evaluating and selecting suppliers, negotiating supply contracts, and monitoring the quality and timeliness of materials and services supplied
  • Implement actions to ensure supply continuity and supplier resiliency.
  • Demonstrate skill and capability in influencing supply chain outcomes.
  • Manage specific supplies, supervise employees in contacting suppliers requesting quotations, determine parts or product specifications, escalation/ de-escalation of orders and negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and other conditions as require.
  • Manage ongoing supplier relationships.
  • Partner and collaborate with key business leaders in order to support cross divisional business initiatives, and drive procurement synergies and efficiencies.
  • Develop strategic plans and provide opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Drive Total Cost of Ownership reductions for spend through analytics and internal partnerships.
  • Communicate vision and strategy for organization.
  • Foster a collaborative environment among stakeholders.
  • Initiate, build and maintain strong relationships across various functions and demonstrate the value-add of leveraging and build enthusiasm and support for adoption.

Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s Degree coupled with the relevant experience in a business-related environment. 6-9 years’ experience.

  • 2+ year’s prior management or equivalent leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead in a team environment; self-motivated; strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to process large amounts of often complex data; detail oriented, self -starter.
  • Strong Data Analytics experience is a must.
  • Solid understanding of basic procurement law and commercial terms. Intermediate to advanced professional experience in the sourcing and/or contracting.
  •  Ability to establish and monitor policies and guidelines.
  • Experience with purchasing from International manufacturers.
  • Working knowledge of procurement systems.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Strong Excel.
  • Able to navigate a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: 130k-145k Bonus and Benefits
