Lead Flexible PVC Extrusions Machine Operator

As the Lead Flexible PVC Extrusion Machine Operator, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of flexible PVC extrusion machines in a manufacturing environment. You will lead a team of operators to ensure the efficient production of high-quality flexible PVC products according to company standards and specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Previous experience as a PVC Extrusion Operator role resulting in successful operations with no downtime preferred.
• Operate and monitor flexible PVC extrusion machines to produce high-quality products.
• Set up machines according to product specifications, including adjustments to temperature, speed, and pressure.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.

Team Leadership:

• Lead a team of operators by providing guidance, training, and support to ensure smooth operations.
• Delegate tasks effectively and ensure that production targets are met.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment among team members.

Quality Control:

• Conduct regular quality checks on extruded products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
• Identify and troubleshoot any issues with machine operation or product quality, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on extrusion machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with maintenance staff for major repairs or upgrades.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and industry standards.
• Conduct safety training sessions for team members and enforce safety guidelines.

Qualifications

Requirements:

· Proven experience as a machine operator in a flexible PVC extrusion or similar manufacturing environment.

· Strong technical skills in machine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

· Leadership abilities with experience in supervising or leading a team.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance requirements.

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Certification or training in machine operation or extrusion processes.

· Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems.

· Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.

· Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.

Physical requirements

The physical demands of this job include sitting / standing for extended periods of time, lengthy periods of time looking at a computer screen using a keyboard and computer mouse, setting up trade show booth exhibits, and occasionally lifting cartons of products and rolls of extruded material.
