Job description

Seeking a Licensed Clinical Psychologist to work at Squaxin Island Tribal Health Clinic in Shelton, WA. This is a small behavioral health program, the clients are primarily high risk, children, youth, families, extended family members. The Clinical Psychologist role is in provision of administrative management involving planning, designing, developing, coordinating and directing comprehensive, interdisciplinary and compassionate mental health and substance abuse services, and clinical supervision of professional and support staff. The behavioral health program shall work to achieve the best outcomes for the patient and their family members.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • •Application and effectiveness of multi-disciplinary behavioral health treatment and modalities include best practices services model(s) used in a comprehensive community based behavioral health program.
  • Program planning, development, implementation, evaluation of principles and techniques required in coordination of a small community/tribal based mental health and substance abuse programs.
  • Relevant Federal and State laws, rules and regulations, the legislative process, policy and budget governing the operation and administration of community mental health and substance abuse programs.
  • Design and execute marketing approaches that maximize utilization and expansion of clinical services.
  • Apply the basic principles of pro-active management and supervision, including but not limited to hiring, assigning workload, evaluation, supervision, and retention of employees.
  • Principles and practices of contract administration, financing, fiscal management, budget development and expenditure control.
  • Knowledge and experience in substance abuse treatment and recovery utilizing models applicable to the diverse ethnic groups encompassing American Indians/Alaskan Natives, Non-natives and others.
  • Ability to analysis and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to relate well with a diverse group of people, including staff and the public.

 

EDUCATION

  • •Must have a doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited University that is accredited by the American Psychology Association (APA).
  • Candidate shall possess a bachelor's degree or higher in management, business or related professional health management degree from an accredited University preferred.

 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE

  • •Hold a full, current and unrestricted License to practice clinical psychology at the doctoral level in the State of Washington. 
  • Hold Chemical Dependency Professional certification and a CDP approved supervisor certification preferred.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Must possess a minimum of ten (10) year's work experience in related skill level to perform the functions outlined within the job description to include mental health, chemical dependency, program management and administrative work experience.
  • Must possess strong background in individual and group counseling, psycho-education, psychotherapy, CD counseling and treatment planning, case consultation, and program design and development.
  • Must possess experience in client record control and management (Electronic / hardcopy) which meets compliance with State/Federal regulations and medical billing standards.
  • Must possess strong background and knowledge of addictions counseling, 12 step model and culturally relevant treatment models.
  • Must possess experience and/or knowledge of Native American Indian/Alaska Natives related psychological clinical research and treatment for all age groups, gender and culture.
  • Must possess knowledge of intergenerational and historical trauma within the Native American Indian population.
  • Must possess experience leading and working with integrated multidisciplinary teams and are comfortable in both group and individual types of counseling session methods to obtain the best outcomes for the patients.

Requirements

  • •Must be able to pass a background check & drug screen.
  • Must maintain current Professional Licenses & Board Certification free of any violations or claims filed against your License for duration of employment with the Tribe.
  • Must maintain current CPR, First Aid, and TB immunization with valid documents.
