Chemistry Lab Technician

The Scientific Teams at Russell Tobin & Associates is hiring a Chemistry Lab Technician at a top material science/chemical company near Cottage Grove, MN.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical chemistry test methods in both a pilot development facility and a chemical production environment
• Perform in-process lab testing and testing of final products
• Perform special testing to investigate challenges encountered during production
• Support execution and validation of test methods
• Prepare analytical standards
• Follow SOPs
• Equipment: GC, HPLC, rheometers, viscometers, IR, UV-vis, ICP-OES, pH probes, auto titrators, Karl Fisher titrators, ovens, furnaces, analytical balances, X-ray fluorescence analyzers
• Report results
• Lab equipment calibration and maintenance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline preferred
• 1 year experience in a quality control laboratory setting, preferably in manufacturing preferred
• Strong math and science skills
• Experience working with analytical instrumentations listed above
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks and organize day

Additional Details:

• Position Type: 1 year contract opportunity
• Onsite position
• Shift: rotating schedule with 12 hour shifts, including some overnights (2-2-3)

1. 6am-6pm (day shift) threes days on, three days off
2. 6am-6pm (day shift) two days on, two days off
3. Rotate to 6pm-6am (night shift) two days on, two days off
4. 6pm-6am (night shift) three days on, three days off
5. Rotate back to day shift

• Requires specific PPE daily in certain situations (safety toe shoes, bump cap, safety glasses with side shields, flame resistant lab coat, gloves, face shield chemical aprons.
• Pay rate range based on experience: $28-35/hr

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
