Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing fire protection systems in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects and contribute to the safety of communities and businesses across the state.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and engineer fire suppression systems, including sprinkler systems, fire alarms, and special hazard systems, utilizing industry best practices and cutting-edge technology.
Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine project requirements and identify potential challenges.
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations using AutoCAD and Hydra Cad software.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful execution and compliance with project goals.
Perform hydraulic calculations, risk assessments, and code analysis to ensure system effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and field personnel as needed.
Stay current on industry trends, developments, and regulatory changes to inform design decisions and maintain technical proficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Professional Engineering (PE) license in Fire Protection Engineering or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fire protection engineering or related field, with demonstrated expertise in system design and analysis.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Hydra CAD software.
Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, building codes, and relevant regulations.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and regulatory authorities.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
