Project Engineer - Civil Construction

At Rice Lake West, the Project Engineer or Field Engineer is responsible for monitoring, updating and coordinating construction site planning activities, logs, documentation, and quality.  The role is an integral part of the construction team and is expected to support all phases of construction.  The position will be based out of Fargo, ND reporting to the Project Manager responsible for the assigned project. 

Education and Background:  Bachelor's Degree - Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Equivalent - or - Two-Year Technical Degree in Construction Technology - or >3 years relevant trade experience performing a leadership role on highway heavy, industrial or commercial construction.

Practical Knowledge:  Construction Means & Methods, Site Layout, Math and Complex Calculations, Critical Thinking as it applies to the breakdown and interpretation of Specifications and Plans, Scheduling, Materials Scheduling, Data Analysis, Organizational Methods, Writing Skills, Leadership and Communication.

Work Experience:  Post-secondary study resulting in Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree with 1 year related work experience - or - Minimum 3 year relevant trade experience in highway heavy, industrial, or commercial construction including document review, scheduling and materials scheduling.

Computer Skills Applied:  Microsoft Office Products, Cloud Based Applications, PDF Based Work Flow, Scheduling Software, Total Station.

Travel:  Frequent day trips and light to moderate overnight travel - or - residing near worksite when required by spec.
