Aspiriant Seeks Tax Director to Join Our Exclusive Family Office
Are you a seasoned tax professional seeking a leadership role and rewarding career in wealth management? Aspiriant invites you to explore an exciting opportunity to join our expanding Tax Services team. As a Tax Director, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services to our ultra-high-net-worth clients within our Exclusive Family Office.
The Tax Director is responsible for providing comprehensive tax planning, advisory, and compliance services to high-net-worth individuals and families. The ideal candidate will have a deep comprehension of complex tax laws, regulations, and planning strategies, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with clients and external professionals.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate complex tax engagements for a diverse and complex portfolio of clients
- Prepare and review all federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, trusts, foundations, and business entities
- Evaluate quarterly estimates and projections
- Develop and implement tax strategies for clients, taking into account their unique business and financial goals
- Provide technical guidance to team members on a variety of tax issues
- Stay abreast of relevant tax legislative developments and disseminate key information to stakeholders
- Represent clients before tax authorities, such as the IRS and state tax agencies
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
- Mentor and train junior tax professionals
- Collaborate closely with clients and their Wealth Managers to address their tax planning and compliance needs
- Function as an internal firm resource and authority for tax issue consultations and resolutions
- Proactively identify and communicate tax-related opportunities and exposures to clients and Wealth Managers
- Foster a culture of innovation and encourage the adoption of firm initiatives
- Identify and participate in new business and cross-selling opportunities
- Practice and exemplify the firm’s dedication to professional excellence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required
- Master of Business Taxation (MBT) is a plus
- Seven to ten years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience, particularly in public accounting, family office, or wealth management
- Proven track record of success in managing multiple engagements and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional client service and communication skills, demonstrating the ability to build and maintain outstanding client relationships
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a reliable work ethic
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Experience with Wolters Kluwer Axcess tools a plus.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak periods
