PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN

CENTRAL TEXAS VETERINARY SPECIALTY & EMERGENCY HOSPITALS

The Patient Care Technician is crucial in providing Advanced Veterinary Care in the Surgery Department of Central Texas Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital. This position aligns with our purpose statement of enhancing the quality of life for our patients.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Veterinary technician experience is required; licensure is preferred.
  3. Experience with post-operative patient monitoring.
  4. Customer service and computer skills are necessary.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, stand, stoop, walk, and stand for an extended period of time. The employee is also required to lift up to forty (40) pounds. Employees are expected to request assistance lifting or carrying animals or materials over 40 pounds.

WORK REQUIREMENTS:
  • The role may involve exposure to radiation, gas sterilization using ethylene oxide, and hazards associated with infected animals and controlled substances.
  • Possible exposure to contagious diseases, unpleasant odors, and noises.
  • Exposure to aggressive patients, bites, scratches, and animal waste is possible.
