Grade 9: $19.39 DOE Must be a high school graduate or have a GED. Must possess or within one year of service, be able to pass the grade I certification test in wastewater treatment. Must possess a CDL within three months of hire.
Grade 11: $21.33 DOE Must be a high school graduate or have a GED. Must have Three years experience in wastewater treatment processes. An equivalent amount of experience may substitute for required education. Must possess or within one year of service, be able to pass the grade lI certification test in wastewater treatment. Must have a CDL.

Description:
In the public works department, for the water reclamation facility and under the direction of the Water Reclamation Facility Manager, assists in operating all treatment processes of the water reclamation facility, composting facility, and sewer pump stations.
Duties:
· Monitors gauges, meters and controls at the wastewater treatment plant, composting facility, and the sewer pump stations.
· Accurately records readings from meters, gauges and keeps accurate, legible records.
· Performs visual inspection of plant process and equipment.
· Operates process equipment, electrical controls, valves and pumps.
· Operates sludge pumping and maintains sludge depth in clarifiers.
· Performs duties in preliminary treatment, primary sedimentation, trickling filter, aerators, and ultraviolet disinfection operations.
· Recognizes changes in normal operations, determines the cause, and reports to proper authority.
· Consults with WRF Manager or DRC if a problem requires immediate resolution.
· Monitors operation of sewer pump stations.
· Maintains sludge thickening, digestion and disposal processes.
· Monitors operation of sewer pump stations.
· Assists in the maintenance of the buildings and grounds.
· Turns compost, takes daily temperature readings, and takes compost samples.
· Takes plant samples as required by the division of water quality.
· Responds to emergency calls on a 24-hour basis when on call.
· Performs other duties as assigned
· Follows the Springville City Public Works safety program.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be a high school graduate or have a GED. For Operator I, must have and maintain a valid Utah driver's license. Must possess or within one year of service, be able to pass the grade I certification test in wastewater treatment. For Operator II, must have three years experience in wastewater treatment processes. An equivalent amount of experience may substitute for required education. Must have a Class A CDL. Must possess or within one year of service, obtain a grade II certification in wastewater treatment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must have basic knowledge of operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant.
Must be able to work as a team member. Must write legibly and be able to read and understand all aspects of required record keeping at the treatment plant. Experience operating a front-end loader, backhoe and skid steer helpful. Must have and maintain a valid Utah driver's license.
Physical Demands:
Must be capable of moving over varied terrain, frequently climbing ladders, frequently stooping and bending, and be capable of lifting 100 lbs. Must be able to work in all weather conditions and around heavy equipment. Must be willing and able to accept exposure to odors and hazardous conditions associated with wastewater.
