Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for all aspects of maintenance and related service and repairs for fleet vehicles, commercial vehicles, (Light Truck, Semi Truck, Commercial Service Trucks). Provides direct customer service and support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements.
• Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
• Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability.
• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
• Perform thorough maintenance on machinery. Equipment and systems.
• Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery.
• Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems.)
• Keep logs of work and report on issues.
• Demonstrates professionalism in all interactions with customers to ensure overall satisfaction and retention.
• Properly completes and submits required billing documents to Store Manager and Assistant Manager.
• Properly maintains assigned service vehicle including all associated service equipment and tools.
• Regularly inspects service vehicle, and reports maintenance or safety concerns upon discovery to Store Manager. All service vehicles must be inspected before use and safe to operate.
• Performs on-call services when assigned.
• Safely drives and operates company vehicles.
• Maintains a clean interior and exterior of assigned service vehicle.
• Ensures compliance with safety requirements as outlined by the company, along with those specified in OSHA and MSHA regulations pertaining to this position.
Fleet Mechanic 2
• Regularly attends all staff trainings and meetings as required.
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education / Experience:
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
• Bachelor’s degree in applicable field preferred
• 3+ years automotive industry experience preferred
• Valid Driver’s license and insurability required at all times
• Fork Lift Certification required. Training provided upon hire.
• TIA Certification required within 1 year of date of hire.
Fleet Mechanic 3
• MSHA Certification required within 1 year of date of hire.
• Commercial Driver’s Licensed NOT required
• General Computer skills are required. Familiar with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (e-mail), and able to send and receive e-mail.
